The Marion County Courthouse at 100 High St. NE will be closed to the public Wednesday, Oct. 21, along with every other state court in Oregon.
The Oregon Judicial Department (OJD) announced the single-day closure to allow court staff across the state to participate in statewide training. The closure covers all circuit courts, the Oregon Tax Court, the Oregon Court of Appeals and the Oregon Supreme Court.
For Salem residents, that means no in-person business at any of the three Marion County court locations: the main courthouse at 100 High St. NE, the Juvenile Department at 2970 Center St. NE and the Criminal Court Annex at 4000 Aumsville Highway SE.
Electronic filing and online court records will still be available during the closure, according to the OJD announcement. The OJD said the training helps staff serve Oregonians effectively.
All courts will resume normal operations Thursday, Oct. 22.
