Roto-Rooter Park in Keizer will transform into a roller-skating rink on Friday, Oct. 2, giving Salem-area families a new off-season use for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes' home stadium.

The rink, operated by mobile skating company Skateland 2 You, will run five days a week through Dec. 31. Most sessions cost $10 per person, skate rental included, according to the Salem Business Journal. Attendance is capped per session.

Tickets are already on sale.

The schedule fills most of the week. Wednesdays offer an all-ages skate from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. followed by an adults-only session from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Thursdays feature a "Worship On Wheelz" session from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fridays have two sessions, Saturdays have five windows starting at 10 a.m., and Sundays offer three sessions between 1 and 8 p.m.

Themed nights, group bookings and private events round out the calendar beyond regular public skating.

Skateland 2 You brings its own rink surface, equipment and staff to each venue. The company also operates mobile rinks in Albany and Corvallis, making the Keizer stop an expansion of its reach into the mid-Willamette Valley. Tickets are available through Skateland 2 You's event listing and the Mavericks League ticketing system.

The Volcanoes promoted the rink on Facebook, calling it affordable family skating for the holiday season. In a separate post, the team called this year's ballpark transformation its most dramatic yet.

The move is part of a broader push to keep the stadium at 6700 Field of Dreams Way active after the Mavericks League wrapped its 2026 season with championship games Aug. 28–30. The ballpark has increasingly hosted entertainment events beyond baseball.

The rink won't be the only attraction this holiday season. Glow Oregon, a Christmas light festival marking its 30th year, is also returning to Roto-Rooter Park, according to the festival's Instagram page. The light show is scheduled to run most dates from late November through Dec. 31, though accounts differ on the exact opening date.

The skating season closes with a New Year's Eve skate on Thursday, Dec. 31.
