Silverton senior Kensley Tegman landed on a statewide list of Oregon's best Class 5A girls soccer midfielders, earning recognition from The Oregonian/OregonLive as the 2026 season nears its end.

Tegman, a four-year varsity player committed to play at the Division I level, was one of several midfielders highlighted in the Oct. 24 list.

The Oregonian/OregonLive compiled the selections from responses submitted by 5A head coaches across the state.

Silverton co-head coach Don Holland called Tegman "a true leader in the middle" and confirmed she plans to continue playing at a Division I program after graduation.

Holland added, "She never gives up on or off the ball!"

The honor caps a senior season in which Tegman has anchored the Foxes from her position just above the back line.

In an early-season profile by the Statesman Journal, co-head coach Eric Lay described Tegman as a player who orchestrates attacks, cuts off counters and shifts the ball across the pitch.

Lay praised her endurance.

"She's just everywhere we need her all at once," Lay told the Statesman Journal in coverage published Oct. 1.

"It's incredible to have players like that."

Silverton has been a consistent presence in the 5A state tournament, reaching the quarterfinals in each of the last three seasons, according to the Statesman Journal. The Foxes fell to Caldera two years ago and to Summit last fall.

The statewide recognition adds to a strong fall for the Foxes' senior class. Senior forwards Marley Wertz and Chloe Brooks have anchored Silverton's attack, with Wertz earning first-team all-Mid Willamette Conference honors last season.

The specific Division I program where Tegman plans to play has not been publicly identified.

Silverton's quarterfinal exits in consecutive years have fueled the team's 2026 push. Whether the Foxes can break through deeper into the state bracket remains the question heading into the postseason.
