Supporters of Family Building Blocks gathered at Kay Estates vineyard the first weekend of September for the Salem nonprofit's second annual Salmon Bake Under the Stars.

Board chair Lillian Kayre and her husband Josh hosted the evening at their vineyard.

Days of rain gave way to clear skies before guests arrived, according to a recap on the organization's website.

A chef from Xicha Brewing and Pura Vida Cocina prepared the salmon. Wild Pear Restaurant, Witte Farm, Minto Growers, Dorn Design Co, Felicity Floral Design, Live Ly Station and Tipsy Lemon also contributed.

The nonprofit did not release a fundraising total.

Family Building Blocks, the relief nursery serving Marion and Polk counties since 1997, next hosts the Young Leaders Council Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 26, from noon to 4 p.m. at Illahe Hills Country Club, 3376 Country Club Drive South in Salem.
