Ritter's, the family-owned restaurant on Liberty Street in downtown Salem, turns 10 in October and plans to mark the milestone with a week of tastings and a ticketed anniversary dinner.

The celebration runs Monday, Oct. 5, through Saturday, Oct. 10, at 102 Liberty St. NE. Owner Mike Ritter announced the event through the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 17.

Each day during the week, Ritter's will host tastings featuring five partner brands: Santa Fe Spirits, Hood River Distillers, Willamette Valley Vineyards, Mi Casa Spirits and Durant Vineyards.

Several of the partners have roots close to Salem. Willamette Valley Vineyards operates its estate tasting room in Turner, in the Salem Hills. Durant Vineyards is based in Dayton in the Dundee Hills, and Hood River Distillers is headquartered in Hood River.

The week wraps with a four-course Anniversary Dinner in the restaurant's Reserve Room. The dinner includes a guided Woodford Reserve whiskey flight from the Johnson Brothers Collective. Tickets are limited. They are available through the restaurant's ToastTab page.

"A decade of housemade goodness deserves a decade-worthy party!" Ritter wrote in the Chamber announcement.

Ritter's stocks more than 200 types of whiskey, bourbon and scotch, according to its website. The restaurant also runs a "Whiskey Wednesdays" program, with hand-selected flights launched each Wednesday and offered throughout the week.

The anniversary dinner's Woodford Reserve pairing extends that tradition to a larger stage.

The restaurant's website describes its lunch and dinner menus as Pacific Northwest-inspired and housemade, with regionally sourced ingredients and seasonal, organic, vegetarian and vegan options.

Ritter's says it partners with Oregon's local vendors for its ingredients.

Mike Ritter and his family took over the space in early 2016, after the previous tenant, Gayle's Italian Market, closed in December 2015, the Statesman Journal reported in 2019.
