Kamree Orizotti, the South Salem setter who finished her Saxons career as Oregon's all-time assists leader, is a finalist for the state's all-quarter-century volleyball team.

The Oregonian/OregonLive named 15 setter finalists on Thursday, Oct. 29, as part of a project honoring the top players from the first 25 Oregon high school volleyball seasons of this century. Longtime high school sports writer René Ferrán made the final selections.

Orizotti's 3,567 career assists are the most in Oregon history, according to the OregonLive list and her Towson University roster page. She was a four-year varsity starter who logged three seasons of 1,000 or more assists. Beyond the record-setting assist total, she added 709 digs, 165 kills, 111 blocks and 226 aces on a 92 percent serving mark.

No other finalist tops that total.

A two-time all-state selection, Orizotti earned 6A second-team all-state and first-team all-conference honors as a senior, according to the OSAA and her Towson bio.

She never played setter before arriving at South Salem. Head coach Matt Leichty, who entered his 16th year leading the program in 2025, picked her out of necessity, according to an OSAA preseason profile published ahead of that season.

"She had never set prior to high school, so that was a, 'We're really short on setters in this program right now and you look like you could do it,'" Leichty said in that profile. "She took it and went with it, and obviously it's worked out incredibly well."

The Saxons' trajectory tracked with Orizotti's development. South Salem made the state playoffs in 2022, reached the quarterfinals in 2023 and advanced to the semifinals in 2024, the furthest the program had ever gone in the state tournament, according to the OSAA. The Saxons finished third in the 6A state championship during Orizotti's senior season, and she was named to the all-tournament team, according to her Towson bio.

Orizotti now plays at Towson University in Maryland.

The competition for the all-quarter-century setter spot is stiff. Among the other 14 finalists are Madison McLain of Santiam Christian, who held the previous top assists mark with 3,369, and Nicole Peterson of Jesuit, the 2015 Gatorade and MaxPreps National Player of the Year.
