The World Ballet Company will bring a full production of Swan Lake to Salem's Elsinore Theatre on Nov. 15 at 6 p.m.

The Los Angeles-based company will stage the classic ballet with 50 dancers representing more than 10 countries, more than 150 hand-sewn costumes and handcrafted sets, according to the Elsinore Theatre's event listing. The performance is set to Tchaikovsky's score and runs two and a half hours, including a 20-minute intermission.

The show is for ages 5 and up.

Sasha Gorskaya and Gulya Hartwick lead the World Ballet Company, which tours classical ballet productions across the country. The company said it has performed in more than 300 cities and reached more than 500,000 audience members, according to the Elsinore event listing.

Oregon ArtsWatch reported the production includes some of Swan Lake's best-known choreography, including the Dance of the Little Swans and the Black Swan's 32 fouettés. The company also performs Nov. 14 at Portland's Newmark Theatre, where the show will feature a live orchestra.

The Salem performance lands during a milestone year for the Elsinore. The theater at 170 High St. S.E. opened on May 28, 1926, as a silent film house and vaudeville venue, making 2026 its 100th anniversary year. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994, according to the Elsinore Theatre's history page.

Architect Ellis F. Lawrence and interior designer Fred S. Allyn created the theater by combining Gothic cathedral and Tudor palace elements, according to the Oregon Encyclopedia. The 1,450-seat auditorium features a 30-by-60-foot stage framed by a proscenium arch. A major renovation completed in 2004 restored the building to its original look.

Group pricing is available for parties of 10 or more. Tickets and details are listed on the World Ballet Company's website.
