Oregon's work share program lets employers cut hours instead of jobs

With Oregon's unemployment rate at 5.2% and the state losing jobs overall, the Oregon Employment Department is promoting its Work Share program, which lets employers reduce staff hours while workers collect partial unemployment benefits. More than 500 employers are enrolled statewide, and businesses can sign up through weekly Tuesday webinars or by calling 503-947-1800.
